Byow FAQ
On Jan 28 2005 the Ontario Government changed the Liquor License Act to allowed consumers to bring their own wine to participating licensed establishments.
The participating establishment must apply for a special endorsement on their Liquor License in order to allow B.Y.O.W. at their establishment.
Great News for Consumers
No longer do you have to save your finest wines for enjoyment at home
Consumer is finally King
Rarely do we see that consumers are king, however with the new B.Y.O.W. rules consumers are free to choose which wine they want to enjoy with a meal at the participating establishments.
This will allow for consumers to bring any bottle of commercially made wine of their choice to a participating licensed establishment.
The choices may range from, a fine bottle from your recent Niagara Winery Tour, to a bottle from your own Private Wine Cellar, or even that special gift you have been saving for the right time and place.
The possibilities are endless, enjoyment is yours to discover, and there is a good chance you may even save money while enjoying your favorite wine.
With thousands of wines available to discover, what are you waiting for...
Important Notes
Wine must be unopened when brought into the participating establishment.
A Corkage fee may apply. (Please check with establishment)
Always drink responsibly.
